I don't think it's making fun of the iPhone specifically. Plenty of phones have this weird auto-fill problem that makes it near impossible to type anything without weeks of training.
I also don't think it's supposed to be funny, necessarily. Maybe light-hearted, but I think it's just supposed to be straight-forward. Sort of a "Oh hey, I think just that!" sort of thing.
