I'm not 100% sure but it looks like the new "AP" app will notify you of Severe Weather in your area. I just downloaded it and it does push information. You set your location and the weather adjusts accordingly.
I've been looking for a sever weather push since the upgrade. Just hoping the Weather Channel app will finally jump on board with push.
