As you may or may not know, the iPhone 3Gs now comes with headphones that include both a microphone and a remote. This remote now controls play/pause/skip forward/skip back/volume up/volume down/voice control. iLounge is also reporting that the new headset has slightly higher sibilence but better dynamics for voice and outputs lower radiation during normal listening. The new headset is the exact same as what was introduced with the new shuffle.
I want to know if this headset will work with the 3G and to what capacity. Any 3Gs owners care to try them on their 3G for me?

They will "work" with the 3G but you will not have access to the volume controls. The controller chip is different in the 3G and is the same one that was made available to the new line of iPods last year including the new shuffle.
