iPWR & loss of reception on 3GS

i bought the 1800mAh battery from iPWR (iPhone 3G / 3GS iPWR SuperPack® Battery Back Up 1800 mAh -TheCellGuru.com) a couple months ago for use with my 3GS. it worked just fine the few times that i actually needed to use it. then i was on 3.0.1 OS.

now since upgrading to 3.1.2 i've noticed plugging the iPWR battery into my iPhone that it removes all reception from my phone!?!? i was on 5 bars of 3G coverage (AT&T) at the time then <POOF> it shows "....." in reception area.

i tried this while in WiFi and Edge also. same effect. once i unplug the device it goes back to normal. so can i no longer charge while staying on-line? just bizarre!

PS-i have a trouble ticket sent into The Cell Guru (who i purchased it from)
