Which dock?

I did a search of this forum and didn't really find the answer. My apologies if there is a thread that answers my question.

I've got an iPhone 3GS and a new Samsung home theater. The Samsung system came with a dock but it lacks some features. Namely, there is no shuffle function for music or photos and it doesn't play podcasts.

So...

I thought I could buy a real dock and A/V cables to gain the functionality that I want.

Should I just get the Apple dock and cables or are there better choices?

BTW, because of the purchase of the home theater and LCD TV, I now have $85 worth of Best Buy credit. I could use that cash to buy a dock but I want to make sure I get something that will work.
