Default Cingular Data Rates?

I know Cingular is saying data rates for the iPhone will be detailed later, but what are Cingular's current data rates?

Well, $20 for smartphone version and this device walks a fine line between simple data device and full PDA so it is unclear what the price will be:

The root cause here may be data pricing. Apple would prefer Cingular to bill the device as a consumer device with $19.99/month data instead of the $44.99/month price for data-centric devices. Most data-centric devices are considered as such because they run native code, such as Palm OS or Windows Mobile.

Symbian devices however are treated as consumer devices... giving Apple potential wiggle-room to run native OSX-condensed applications on the device without digging into users for data charges.

Cingular's data policies are such bs. A power user with a smartphone can easily use 50 megs a month on a $19.99 plan vs. a lite user of a Treo 680 doing 10 megs a month for $44.95. What they should do is charge based on speed... GPRS and edge devices for $10.99 and $15.99 a month, HSDPA, UMTS maybe $24.99. That would be fair and they'd probably get more data subscribers.
