I am a current AT&T Wireless subscriber, with a corporate discount on my monthly plan. I was told in an Apple store that because of the corporate rate they could not activate an iPhone 3G for me there, and that I would have to order it (ugh) through an AT&T retail store.
Anyone else have a different experience? I'd prefer to buy from stock at the Apple store if possible. |

It depends. If you're paying for your own bill but just using a corporate discount, you should be able to purchase it in store. If your company pays for it, it has to be done at AT&T.
I purchased my phone at an Apple store with a corporate discount. They had to remove the corporate discount to add the phone, but then I immediately re-added said discount. However, it might take another 2 months for the discounts to return. |
