The FUZE was unusable to me. TouchFlo 3D was "press really hard 2D" and ended up being more of a random app launcher.

What kills me about the iphone is despite it's very simple and very intuitive interface it cannot do things that have been pretty much standard in smart phones.

No copy and paste and no true backgrounding unless you jailbreak.

I jailbroke my phone and even with all the tweaks I've done it still doesn't provide the functionality of an WinMo phone.

Anyways I hear a lot of people talk about how bad WM phones but does same people are usually the ones not advanced enough to use them.

Yes just like OSX the iphone is great for people who need to have their hands held.

Anyway I love my iphone but I await the day it gets everything right from day one especially backgrounding. I don't want to pay ATT for text messages. IMing is the best alternative but the lack of memory in the iphone kills the experience.

It's not cheaper... the plans for PDA's are the same as it is for the iPhone. $30 for unlimited data.

I've owned many WinMo devices (ipaq, blackjack, HTC 8125, T-Mo MDA, t-Mo Dash) and i don't think "advanced" is the right word, patient is more like it. I'd like to think i'm a power user when it comes to these devices and these devices require patience more than anything, they eat up resources so fast have and require a restart every so often. the 8125 and the MDA were the worst phones i've ever owned, they were so unstable and crashed so often. The crappy part about WinMo isn't its capabilities (It can do lots of stuff) but the problem is it can't do it well, if you look at WinMo, in 5-6 years it has looked exactly the same and hasn't changed a bit, with the iphone and blackberry slowly stepping up the game, only now is it evolving.

If you need something thats run apps in the background, get a blackberry; ive had a curve and a bold and I only switched to an iphone recently because i dropped my bold in water. And having a few HTC phones in the past (I love smartphones), I don't know if HTC quality is up to par with those 2.
