There has to be ways around this type of protection. I've never had to look into though. But NOTHING is hack proof. There is always a way inside... always.

Component cables are the analog hole, giving you 720p without HDCP, but I don't know of any HDCP-specific cracks because each link in the chain from graphic card to cables to monitor has to be compliant.

Probably easier to just break the source (i.e. firewire SDK out from cable box, BlueRay decryption software), then fuss with each individual source.

The whole thing is, I have a completely legit HDCP/HDMI setup for my cable box, and I still have to reset everything regularly because it claims I don't have HDCP.

All this stuff does is make regular consumer miserable.

Shame on them, and a pox on all their houses!
