I went through several Storms, and several leaked OS's before giving up. I don't mind being a beta tester for a product but I expect to be informed os such UP FRONT and would not use a beta product, hardware or software, for a device that I depended on as a primary work device.
The Storms biggest mistake, IMHO, is that they made BETA testers out of folks who had no desire or business being. |

i played with the Storm while sitting ib Verizon waiting to be called on (on a computerized waiting list) to have my gf's LG envy2 phonebook transferred to her new envy2. only had the previous one for 6 months before it started acting up. anyways, didn't care much for the Storm. lots of visual show and options, but performance was sluggish as hell. and looked a bit bulky. i happily popped out my iphone while i waited an hour to be seen and have her phone worked on

oh...and the customer service waiting list was 4 times longer than the service waiting list. apparently had issues from blacked out LCD screens, data loss, nonworking keys. verizon apparently gets 2nd rate quality phones. glad i chose Att after cancelling tmobile

I can't speak about Verizon, but I had a BB Curve (AT&T) before my iPhone. I really liked the Curve but it too suffered from memory leakages. Really, memory leakage is just part of daily BB life and not really tied to one carrier. I would always do a battery pull at least once a day to ensure I didn't lose text messages or emails. Because of this, I seldom used the Application Switcher. Too bad because having a few frequently used apps running simultaneously was quite convenient.

I played with a Storm when they first came out, needless to say I thought it was pretty bad. I've read that it's improved a great deal, but first impressions are hard to get over for me.
My old iPhone 2G is still doing me well and the fact that I'm so locked into the App Store now means its likely the iPhone 3G will get me way before anything else does. |

I have had old iPhones, Blackberry Curves, Storms and Bolds. The Bold was awesome but using the iPhone makes much more sense since I am a MAC user, a magazine publisher and photographer.
While the Bold is a great phone it was the interface between the iPhone and my mac that swayed me. However the storm is a piece of crap and I was so dissapointed with the one I got that I actually gave it away to a friend. Ned |

Former Storm user here. I bought it when it first came out because of the tremendous promise it showed. First 3 days I was like WTF! But its pretty workable after you get use to the ENDLESS settings and preferences. Had 1 authorized OS upgrade in 6 months to an OS that was very clearly not ready for prime time. Verizon was as fed up as the users I think with the instability and half achieved promises. When I found out the Storm 2 was coming it was evident that Storm 1 was going to be abandoned and never fixed I left. Since I am an Apple fan boy am extremely happy with my new friend. AT&T's coverage is really not as good as Verizon though.

i had the storm i was trying so hard to love it but i got fed up with constantly putting leaked operating systems on it to get it to function correctly so i listed it on ebay and used that money to get an iphone 3g and never looked back
