iTablet Tomorrow?

I'm so of two minds on the iTablet idea. I know I'd likely find a use for it, but not sure it's mainstream enough yet for Apple. A big iPod touch? A Mac OS baby?
Gates hasn't made any progress on tablet in years, can Apple nail it?
