Itunes and just about every other program work fine. No need to install drivers. It's new driver stack finds just about every one out there.
Windows 7 is a beauty. One of the quickest and most intuitive OS I have ever used. It easily trumps OSX, Vista, XP, Ubuntu, etc. |

I'm using Win7 RC as my primary OS right now...It's great. I haven't booted into my Vista install since the Win7 RC became available. It runs better than my Vista install ever has. It really is true that Win7 is everything that Vista should have been. iTunes + iPhone work just as they should and syncing seems to be a bit faster. In fact, file transfers of all kinds seem to be faster with Win7 compared to Vista. I you decide to give it a shot and you can't find Win7 versions for the software or drivers you need, try the Vista versions. All of the software and drivers that I have installed are working fine even though many of them were written for Vista.

Microsoft's Windows 7 team says that on their website. The fact that Vista drivers work the same under Windows 7 as they did on Vista.
One thing I noticed is when I went to Adobe's website to download Flash Player and Reader, the website would not detect the OS properly and prompted me to choose another OS to download the software for. I just chose Vista/WinXP and the installation worked perfectly.

Yeah, itunes runs perfectly fine on the RC, even downloading 2-4 hour movies. I agree with everyone else, looks like microsoft finally listened to us about a lot of things, escpecially the ability to create themes without hacking the dll files.
Ive been playing call of duty 4 on it, and it far exceeds vista on performance and graphics. I have a gateway m-series laptop, 4 gig of ram installed on t, and it seems like I never have to wait for program to load now. I cant wait for the non-beta to be released ![]() |

The kernel is not the same. 1. Windows 1.0 2. Windows 2.0 3. Windows 3.0 and Windows NT which was code versioned as Windows 3.1. 4. Then came Windows 95, which was code versioned as Windows 4.0. Then, Windows 98, 98 SE and Windows Millennium each shipped as 4.0.1998, 4.10.2222, and 4.90.3000, respectively. 5. Windows 2000 code was 5.0 and then we shipped Windows XP as 5.1, even though it was a major release we didn’t’ want to change code version numbers to maximize application compatibility. 6. That brings us to Windows Vista, which is 6.0. 7. So we see Windows 7 as our next logical significant release and 7th in the family of Windows releases. The 6.1 thing is just so they can get by DOD policy. Last edited by infenit101 : 07-09-2009 at 04:23 PM. |
