New iPod touch likely?

If Apple does indeed announce a new iPhone next month, are they also likely to introduce a new generation of iPod touch? I didn't know if the 2g touch came out along side the iPhone 3g last year.........

Yep, rumor has it that new iPod touch might have a camera too!

Including GPS would be more wanted by me. If the rumors that we might see real GPS apps with 3.0 come true. Forget buying a Garmin standalone..and i could easily justify buying an iPod touch (not that i have to justify..).

But hey, i'd take the camera too.

GPS would be a good addition to the iPod touch.
But that might cause problems with differentiating between iPod touch and iPhone, and apple would lose even more iPhone buyers to the iPod touch (iPhone buyers are better because they keep paying after buying).
Especially with the introduction of a camera.
I think the cam is definitely happening on both the touch and the nano.
