Default Iphone 3G vs Symbian S60 5th ed. Nokia

Well I've had the Iphone 1st gen for a couple years and have really enjoyed it, though it has frustrated me to no end with the common missing components. Each update made improvements, and I finally started looking into the app store and wow! This phone has a world of possibilities with all the apps available. Well I have upgraded to the 3G.. But before it arrived I also pre-ordered the new Nokia N97. Nokia USA - Nokia N97 - Products This phone appears to have everything I've loved in the Iphone and more, and much more. The only thing is I'm not familiar with the Symbian OS. The unlocked N97 price is quite insane, but with the long feature list I don't see where I can loose.
Well the 3G has arrived and I'm really digging this phone. Except for battery life, not too many complaints (except for the common Iphone complaints). Does anyone have experience with the Nokia Symbian phones and if so, how does it compare to the Iphone? I'll have to wait till the N97 gets here to decide which to sell!!
Thanks,
Kevin

I had a Nokia phone actually... had it for about a day before it went back. Just not for me.

I had a Nokia 5800 for about a week (this was actually the second one as the first fried the microsdhc card that came with it). I had to hard reset 5 times in that week, so I sold it. I am holding off to see if a new iPhone is announced this summer. Either way, I am getting one this summer.

For me, the S60 5th seemed out-dated in look-and-feel and function with not a lot of user-friendly appeal. While I liked some qualities of the phone, I just can't get past the huge support/application base of the iPhone and the great user experience when using my wife's.

Another thing, I read through a bunch of the iPhone posts in the dailymobile.se forums to realize that just about every post had a reply similar to "What a cool app! Wish my 5800 could do that", or "Hope they come out with that for the 5800". Just made me realize that I should go with the iPhone...

Symbian is like Motorola....you either love it or hate it.

I played with a N97 yesterday. Amazing hardware, but the OS is a deal breaker...

I did like the E71x, but it's still Symbian...
