Next big thing ?

I don't even know -- video conference would be nice but that depend on the network and I know apple will have problems with at&t.

WWDC was mainly about refinements so next year they'll have something brand new. You can't refine every year.

I don't think we'll see something as revolutionary as the iPhone for quite some time to come. But since we're speculating here, I'd have to agree with the above that iChat and mobile videoconferencing would be pretty spectacular. Of course as also mentioned the networks will need some major upgrading to support it. Also spectacular would be iPhones on networks other than AT&T, just to get it into more people's hands if nothing else. As it is, the iPhone already has everything I've ever hoped for in a smartphone; what I'd like to see most are continued improvements in the direction it is already going (more well-designed features and apps, higher processing speed, more storage and memory) so that eventually it will replace my desktop computer in the same way that my landline telephone has been replaced—in other words, completely and permanently!
