I have decided to post this hear because I am asking for opinions and not for any technical comparisons and I know this will attract certain 'fan boys' of devices (both apple and RIM) but still heres the situation. I am in a financial bind right now. I have an iPhone 3GS and I really like it but I may have to sell it on eBay because the market for these are very hot. I could purchase a Blackberry on an upgrade on my account at 3rd party location. I want a phone that is locked and branded to the at&t network. I am a consumer who likes his e-mail on the phone and would like it immediately but it's not a hard requirement. I love the apps on the iPhone but I do not have a lot on there (about 60 right now). The apps I use on the iPhone everyday, mostly, are available on the Blackberry. I had a Bold before so I know its strengths and weaknesses. I do NOT live in a 3G area. I am considering 3 options right now:
1.) Keep the iPhone and do nothing. 2.) Sell iPhone and get a Bold or 8900 on craigslist/ebay 3.) Sell iPhone and upgrade account for either another iPhone or above mentioned Blackberry So what's important for me is Full HTML e-mail, internet browsing, useful apps, and to be the most productive when I am not at my computer. Which device would be recommended here? Last edited by ptb6744 : 08-21-2009 at 12:29 AM. |

For one, you're going to get very biased answers in an iPHONE forum, lol
As most of us here own iPhones and obviously prefer them. If apps are important to you, then you should very well know the iPhone is top notch for that. Full HTML e-mail is technically available on BBs since OS 4.6 or so, but I don't consider it that, as if you get an e-mail with images, you still have to click the BB key and go to load images, which to me, is dumb. Internet browsing, yeah, iPhone again. The BB browser is pretty bad. Not the worst I've ever seen but definitely nothing compared to the iPhone's. BBs are easier to type on for most people, and they have push support for pretty much anything. Depends on what is important to you. I'm speaking as someone who has had all 3 versions of the iPhone as well as a BB 8310 and a BB Bold. I came back to the iPhone.

I knew I'd get iPhone opinions here and Blackberry opinions on Crackberry but still I figured i'd post this and see what interesting thoughts I got. I can type just as fast on the iPhone as I could on any Blackberry. I've also had the Bold and Curve 8310 so I know what to expect. I experience ADD with phones I think (lol).. I am thinking of just upgrading the line and then just selling the phone I decide on and keeping the iPhone 3GS.

Well if you have had all the phones, you know what to expect, so no one's opinion should really even weigh in on you. No one can make a decision for you, it comes down to preference. BB's are solid phones, so are iPhones, get what you need, not what someone else thinks you should have.
