Ok, folks the linked article is very long, but worth reading. It explains why Nokia has been sitting quietly while Apple and Android and Palm have been eating away at its market share.
![]() Article: Mobile-review.com First look at Nokia RX-51 aka Nokia N900 If true this phone will have it all and be more OPEN than any other phone out there because it uses Linux and does not try to break compatibility with the Native OS, like Apple and Google did.
Estimated price without subsidy: $780 USD. The phone is supposed to hit the shelves late in 2009. But the neatest thing is it is Linux, and not crippled linux, so you will be able to side load apps. Will ATT let it into the US? Probably after they force Nokia to give it a lobotomy. Do hop over and read the review and specs. Its very well written. But be aware this article was screen shot from a working prototype and things may change before release, and there are indications of other Themes available (and being linux there will be hundreds to choose from in a year). A very interesting read. Last edited by icebike : 08-21-2009 at 03:39 PM. |

Saw this posted somewhere else as well. Looks nice but I am not sure that this a competitor to the "smartphone" market. It talks of a GSM sim card but for Data only. Not Voice.
Still looks good though.

Because its nokia, you can be assured it will handle GSM, EVDO, LTE, CDMA, WCDMA. They don't mess around. Where did you get the idea it wouldn't talk on GSM? ![]() |
