Default Who's ready for Windows 7?

A few weeks ago the Mac world was buzzing with their new version of OS X. Now it's Windows users turn. I was at Best Buy today with my bro and their computer section was cleaned out. A floor worker said they had sold all their systems with Vista and only had a few left. Then he pointed to these giant cages behind the Geek Squad counter and some up on shelves that were locked and filled to the brim with new systems already loaded with Windows 7. It looks like MS and everyone are not holding back their stock and are hoping this will help PC sales.

I pre-ordered my copy back when it was $50 on a special deal. My only real concern is how well iTunes and my iPhone are going to play with Win7.

iTunes has been locking up on me occasionally, but I can't say with any certainty if it's Windows 7 causing it, or if it's just iTunes (or some other background app/process). Overall, not too much trouble.

Check out Lance Ulanoff twitter account. last night he installed iTunes on Win7/64 and it didn't work, he did something to get it to work but I can't remember because twitter seems to be down! But yes I'm also waiting for my Win 7 copy.

That sucks, I'm planning on throwing in another GB of RAM into my laptop and installing the 64bit version. Hopefully Apple won't take to long to get some official support.

Here is what Lance Ulanoff said in his twitter.

"Had to download the software through Apple Updater--which seemed to automatically grab the right version of iTunes 9 for Windows 7 64-bit."

I only use my iPhone on my Mac side so I can't talk about how Windows will play with iTunes and the iPhone. However I have been using Win7 since beta and I LOVE it. I have had it running on my MB Pro under Fusion. I love the interface, the new features, and stability. I bought two more copies for my home and work desktops.

The only real benefit of 64 bit is that if you have more than 2GB of memory in your pc, 32 bit will not be able to take advantage of it.

I will be getting a netbook tomorrow so what I'm really interested in will be how easily Win7 install on that sucker and if it detects all the hardware correctly.
