I played with the storm 2, and the droid today. I must say I dont like how the droid flips out. If its going to flip out, it needs to fit flush over the whole phone, and it does not, the flip out part is slightly shorter. As for browsing, it pulled up pages ok, my pre pulled them up much faster though. On youtube, the videos are very low quality. My pre on the other hand displays hd like videos on youtube.

As for the storm, it was the same old crap, but I will admit that typing on the storm 2 was probably the most pleasant experience I have had on an all touchscreen phone. I was able to type very fast, and accurate on my first try. Internet still is slow, and the os is still old and outdated though.

In all, I will be waiting for the x10. Should put the moto droid to absolute shame. On a positive note, the moto droid did have a beautiful screen. more clear than my pre, and the 3gs.

As far as os is concerned, I still think palm has the best os, there is no doubt about it that palm multi tasks better than any other device I have used, and it also has the best message alerts out of any phone I have used, and this is why I have one. Hopefully sony improves upon the android os with its own features. Also hopefully the htc hd2 will be nice. For now, I will stick to what I have, because nothing is better for my needs at the moment.

The keyboard is what I like best about the S2.

Default iCan...

iDon’t have a real keyboard: iDont need a real keyboard, its 2009, not 1999, besides i dont want any crud build up.

iDon’t run simultaneous apps: iCan because i have Backgrounder via cydia.

iDon’t take night shots: ok maybe iDont but how good does flash work on a phone camera anyways.

iDon’t allow open development: The jailbreak community does allow open developmet.

iDon’t cusomize: Jailbroken iPhones are really customizeable. Try Winterboard perhaps plus thousands of themes.

iDon’t run widgets: Intelliscreen does. It has widgets that allow you to put whatever you want on your lockscreen. There’s also an application called QTweetr that lets you tweet any time you want by sliding it out.

iDon’t have interchangeable batteries: iDont look for a phone with an interchangeable battery so iDont Care

iPhone FTW

Droid isn't bad. It's improving slowly. The best thing about it is the verizon network. I still think it's not ready just quite yet. It's cool because it's new but I still think he iPhone is better. The gap is closing though.

I had Verizon for a month on their trial and I did not like it, it always cut out. I live in
GA where coverage is supposed to be good, but I guess not in my area. I can say that their customer service is fantastic. As for the Droid, it doesn't have a lot of things that the iPhone has and the iPhone doesn't have a lot of things it has. I can say I have had every major OS including Android and other than Windows Mobile I would say it was the slowest and most mind boggling crapshoot of an operating system that I have ever had to frustrate myself with. On that note, unless you do not get ANY AT&T 3G coverage then I would go with iPhone.

Yep, location matters. There's a map for that but not in my area. AT&T is strongest followed by Sprint. Until that changes, verizon could launch whatever they want but i couldn't consider it.

The only worthwhile thing the Droid brings is a very nice screen. Google Nav? It'll be on the iphone soon enough.

One can only hope that Apple has something up their sleeve this summer with a new screen as well. And that multitasking/notifications is on the software update list.

Default Has anyone done the LIVE iPhone v Droid comparison?

All the Droid raves say its a killer, but 90% of the raves have never actually used one yet.

Anyone done the side by side for more than 5 mins? Like with a real owner? Not just in a store with a person who doesn't know how to use one.

I want the truth!

Me, I own both a Droid and iPhone 3GS. Droid is hands down a great device and I love it. I'd say Android 2.0 is really for people who love to customize, multitask, and enjoy a brilliant screen. I love my iPhone too.

but do you love the droid phone itself, or is it the android 2.0 that makes the phone so appealing? i would say that the android 2.0 really looks good, but i just cant get over the phone that is using it.
