Came across this. Does not state that it would work with and iPhone but it works with virtually every other iPod available including the iPod Touch. Would this work for the phone? I need to get a cable for my work car and this seemed to be a good price. Another question I have is, will and dock to 3.5 connector produce better sound than a 3.5 to 3.5 connector? Thanks for any help!

I have a car integration unit. Whenver my iphone is plugged in, it'll go into accessory mode and not let me use the ipod controls. Prior to iphone 3.0, I was able to hold down the home button to kill accessory mode and use iphone ipod controls by reloading the ipod controls. Ever since version 3.0+, I have not been able to access the ipod controls to control my music when my iphone is plugged into the car integration unit. Does anyone know how I can get to the ipod controls when having the iphone plugged into an accessory?

I know the Mophie Juice Pack Air has a micro usb instead of the apple plug in. I was wondering before I bought this thing. If any micro usb charge cable will work. The Mophie just comes with 1 of course that isn't enough. So I was gonna go ahead and get 2 or 3 more cable. My old Moto Razr cable from back in the day is a micro usb also. Just making sure I'm not wasting money before I buy these cables.
Thanks

I just got my iPhone, had a Phantom Skin on my BB tour and was impressed wtih it. Had it on for about 2 months no issues at all. I really love it since you can't really tell it's on there, since I absolutely hate cases and skins. I bought a white iPhone so I want to see the white back! (Unless someone can recommend something else?) Was going to buy just the back for the phantom skin.

Then for the front I'm not sure yet, I always thought about an anti glare one but when my neighbour was over with his 3G last night, you can def tell that his isn't as clear, at least with the anti glare one that he had. A lot of people talk about the crystal film so I may try that since I don't care as much about finger prints. My only question with that is what is the texture like, since the phantom skin on my tour was almost rubbery and non slip like. I couldn't imagine sliding my finger over that since it just felt weird so not sure if the crystal is rubbery like that too. Thanks!

Something is really bugging me:
When Apple presented OS 3.0 for the iPhone one new feature was dock access for apps. They even (tried) to demo it with a physical experiment and some medical accessory.

I found it really exciting because I could imagine many great new accessories for my iPhone.
There are great possibilities:
- Dock adapter for connection of digital cameras
I want to be able to connect my camera, download pictures and post them on Facebook for example!
This shouldnt be a problem. You could do this previously with older iPods!!
- Adapter for add-on cameras with more MP (Ok, that one could not be in Apple's interest)
Great would be also an add-on frontface camera for Skype video chat...
- IR-Adapter - One could use the iPhone as universal remote control

I'm sure everyone in the community has more ideas...

But where are they? Is the certification for iPhone compatible accessory that complicated that even months after only the TomTom Car Kit saw the light?

What do you think? What is happening here?

Hey all,

I know I am new here, well newly registered. I have been a lurker for sometime now.

I picked up a battery pack for my iPhone 3gs, the Luckypacks i-up 5400 and wanted to share my experience with other iPhone users.

First I want to say the customer service at Luckypacks is AMAZING!!! I ordered my i-up 5400 from their site as I had a trip coming up and wanted a battery I could use the entire weekend without bringing my power brick to charge my phone. When I got the battery it worked for one charge and then stopped. I emailed Luckypacks and within minutes I had a response and an address to send my battery back. They sent me a new battery and even paid for my shipping of the bad battery going back to them. The whole time they were in immediate contact with me via e-mail.

Now onto the battery. I gave it a full charge per the instructions and left for the weekend. The battery gave me enough power to charge my phone and my S9-hd headset all weekend long. I charged the phone at least 5 times, not from dead, but from about 50% or so. Same for the headset. It finally died on Sunday night. The battery also has an led light on it and it helped me in the morning when it was pitch black and I needed to get dressed with out waking everyone else up.

The pack comes with a dedicated retractable iPhone charge/sync cable and a second retractable usb cable and a slew of adapter tips.

I would not hesitate to buy an i-up 5400 especially if you want a battery that will fully charge your phone more than once.

Hi,
Is it possible to get an iphone 3GS dock connector, to USB AND 3.5mm audio cable?

I see that apple has the full composite cable for dock connector to component video + stereo audio, but that would cause a mess in my car, and I'd have to use a phono to 3.5mm converter too. I'd really like to have just 1 cable running from my iphone, back to the location where my 3.5mm audio jack is, and the 12v socket in my car.

Any ideas?

Also, are there any negatives to using the dock connector for the audio, instead of using the regular audio jack on the top of the iphone?

Thanks,
Dan
