I recently complained to both AT&T and the FCC with regards to being billed two minutes for calls significantly less than 1 minute (37 seconds, 32 seconds, 58 seconds), and the response I received from an AT&T response team member was:

In reviewing the terms of service, I found that it states the following: "("CHARGEABLE TIME") IS BILLED IN FULL-MINUTE INCREMENTS, AND ACTUAL AIRTIME AND USAGE ARE ROUNDED UP TO THE NEXT FULL-MINUTE INCREMENT AT THE END OF EACH CALL FOR BILLING PURPOSES. AT&T CHARGES A FULL MINUTE OF AIRTIME USAGE FOR EVERY FRACTION OF THE LAST MINUTE OF AIRTIME USED ON EACH WIRELESS CALL." Therefore, if a call starts at 6:42 and ends at 6:43, the portion of the call which took place during 6:42 will be rounded up to a full minute and the portion of the call which took place during 6:43 will also be rounded up to a full minute.

In other words, calls as short as 2-4 seconds that fall on either side of a change of time can be billed a full 120 seconds. Is it me, or does this sound absolutely ridiculous (whether it is written into the contract or not), and why isn't there any movement to stop this?

Have any Sprint users switch to AT&T, how is their customer service? I've have general experience with the OS having a 2nd gen iPod Touch, is jailbreaking the iPhone worth it? Has anyone living in Arizona used AT&T, and how is the coverage and data speeds?

Without question, San Diego is one of the more difficult regions for decent cellular coverage. AT&T finally offers 3G MicroCells to customers with little or nonexistent service to their homes and offices. I got mine this morning, and it works GREAT!!! Full bars of coverage and appears to provide faster data downloads. :) $150 with $100 mail-in rebate. Although the MicroCell connects to and uses your home or business internet connection, AT&T still counts the calls and data usage via your own internet access against your phone plan minutes. However, you can sign up for a $20 monthly unlimited MicroCell plan.

Hello all. I have been a Mac user ever since I can remember. And when the iphone came out, I thought, how cool would this be. It seems like it offers everything and them some more. However, here is the downfall. I have verizon and love their service and plans that they offer. I have heard some not nice things about AT&T and their service. I talk and txt like crazy on my phone now. I currently have the blackberry curve 8330 with verzion. It was cool when it first came out, but now seems out of date. I have messed around with the storms a lil bit, both 1 and 2, but do not like some of the features it offers and comes with. And after messing around with an iphone, it just felt so natuarl and felt like i need to have one. Only thing holding me back it the carrier. So, my main reason for this post is exactly what it means. I need people to convince me to get one. Wiegh the pros and cons. Any and all help is greatly appericated and I hope to get some feed back! :D

...everytime i call them, i get the automated messaging system that asks me for my mobile # so i type it in then, either i get another messaging system or i get a rep asking me for my mobile # again...Its a pain in the hole!! So what i did today was, as soon as i heard the rep ask for my mobile #, i gave it all to him at once, Mobile#>>Name>>Last 4 of SSN!!

So today i called AT&T Int'l about some overage charges for Data Roaming and i told the rep that i added the int'l data package before i left to Canada so he did after completing a breif backgraound check(<im serious). I was up there for about 3.5 days, so i waited an extra day before calling back to ask if it was safe to remove the int'l data package and she assured me it was safe and i wouldnt be charged overage. So i checked my bill today and guess what? Surpise, there was that beautiful red "overage info". Today i called about the issue and explained my entire situation to the rep and after 15 mins of going back and forth, he transferred me to another rep who kept informing me about how i understood the "agreement about proration" and that since i "understood" they cant do anything to help me! Which is a bunch of bullshyt! She puts me on Hold and the phone comes up with a busy signal!! I was already pissed at that point, i called right back and went thru all the usual machines and so on until i finally get a rep and i explained to her my situation about the overage and she helps me out with no problem by adding the int'l data package back on and tells me to keep it on for an extra 5 days just to be safe!! SHE WAS GREAT!! To those other reps: Was that so COT DANG HARD!?!??!!?!?!?!?!?!?! In conclusion, most of them can help you, i guess it depends on if they want to!
