Before there was a jailbreak for 3.1 I used a technique to enable mms. I never updated to 3.1 because I wanted to keep my jailbreak. It involved downloading SupremePreferences from Cydia, and turning on some options and entering the mms address for send/receive, etc. Now it worked great and I had the little camera icon by where you enter the text and everything, just like if I had updated.

Now the problem is after awhile the phone starting replacing texts with pics here and there at random. You would see the text pop up and be in the list of texts, but when you went into where you see the conversation in text balloons, sometimes there would be pics instead. This has really started getting annoying because I have to have people resend their texts, and the pics come back randomly, and my friends sometimes send some nasty stuff. Even after I delete the pics, all the texts, and never save them, they will show up down the road. They only show up on my end thankfully.

In an attempt to fix this I took off the jailbreak and updated to 3.1.2. I don't think it's the actual jailbreak though because I had it jailbroken fine for awhile. It started after I did the go around in activating the mms. I even did a full restore but it still does it! Has anybody experienced this problem? Anywhow, here's my problem ive used blackra1n and jailbroken my 3gs now if i use rock or cydia it all goes well... its installed but then when i try and install any apps... its ok... but it says reboot so i click reboot and then when the iphone turns back on... im in horror because the usb lead and itunes image is displayed and i have to restore again and again and again...

any ideas?

I have a jailbroken iphone that a friends kid owns that I need to keep from accepting system updates. I set his itunes to not update the phone when he plugs in, but he keeps going to friends houses and gets updates pushed. I've had to re-jailbreak this phone three times now.

I can't find any apps that keep the phone from updating, so my current thought was to ssh into it and change the permissions on wherever it downloads or installs the system updates to 000. Firstly I dont know the folders that update uses, or if killing permissions on these folders would keep the phone from syncing or running apps.

i have iphone 3gs. installed cydia via blackra1n hack.

I do not seem to be getting a vibration, (when on silent mode and the setting for email, text, notifications the sound is off..) -for text or emails.

i uninstalled the software and tried it.i made sure all the notifications (text, email, call, etc) were set to on..then i just hit the silent switch on the side of the phone, and it works as normal..

buuuttt..i reinstalled it asvibra 2, now it works like as if i never installed the app and just get 1 vibrate for text/email.. i dunno..
