Application Request Mail Replacement

I'm pretty certain with Apple's control, it is not possible to get an application to replace the mail program, but man o man I wish I could have some more features in the mail program. What I really want is to be able to sort my mail by date, sender, subject, and search my mail for keywords.

Even my dumb old Windows Mobile Mail, could sort mail by date, sender, and subject. Please someone, or please Apple, give us some more power features in our email.
