because they have to update their server architecture to handle more load, write server applications to accept the push notifications and send them that scale, test internally and with push.

it's not as simple as adding push to just to the app otherwise every cheap app would have push notifications

I just bought WeatherAlert last night, now if only we could get some actual weather here in L.A.!!! It has a setting for fires so I guess we'll see how that works soon..
