To do program with push type capabilities

Is there any program, such as Things, that can actually set off reminders in the phone (like the calendar does) when something is due?

I don't think there is one yet from a third party that uses PNS... In time I'm sure there will be, but until then you'll have to use the calendar app for this purpose.

ToodleDo maybe? I use that and NotifyMe. They work great. You might want to set up a Google Calender to do what you want.
