Default iPhone App vs Web App

I don't know about you guys but I don't want to buy or download an app that accesses a website when I can just go to the dang website using Safari.

How about you, which do you prefer, an app downloaded to your phone or going to a web app or website to get your app fix on?

Inquiring minds!!!!!

Well if it's free and I use it a lot, I prefer an app or a least a link to the home screen. If it costs money, forget it!

Horses for courses. I prefer the purpose built application in almost every case. Many of the apps combine data from two or more web-sites to get results that I cannot get using a browser.

I usually find using a dedicated app to be more efficient and steamlined for the mobile experience.

If I use it a lot, I do not care what it costs.

I was traveling yesterday and the storms were an issue. I was gonna download the free weather channel app. But I then decided to go to Weather.com using Safari. I had the same info as the app and well no space was taken up on my springboard.

That is when I came up with that question. I guess I'm the strange one, but I'd rather not have a lot of stuff on my springboard, especially stuff that I can access on the web.

I average the cost of the free ones with those I think are a little high (like TomTom.)
