Default Gps that doesnt need internet connection

Ive recently purchased the tomtom gps at the app store..

little did i know that it uses internet connection.

the bad thing about it is, i dont have an unlimited data subscription..


is there any GPS app that doesnt use internet connection?

I was under the assumption TomTom had the maps built in as well?

Navigon has the maps built in. I have this one and it works great; used it up in northern Maine where there is simply no cell service at all.

you dont use internet connection for your iphone?

mine says "waiting for GPS signal" when it is not connected to the internet..
i tried driving around town with it, but it doesnt get that GPS signal.

is there a setting to use TomTom without internet connection?

i forgot to mension.. my iphone is 2g.. is that the reason why it is not working?

That would be your answer. The original iPhone does not contain GPS.
