Threads Marked as Read too Soon

Why are threads/posts marked as read after just a few minutes?

I'll visit the forums and see a large list of posts that are new since my last visit. As I'm reading them I'll get a phone call or someone will walk into my office and pull me away a short time. When I come back, all the posts that I haven't read yet are already marked as read.

I'm not talking about a long period of time either. I just had a phone call that lasted about 5 minutes, and all the previously Unread messages were marked as read when I continued reading.

This is happening MUCH to quickly in my opinion. Please, either increase the timeout or remove it all together...

First I've heard of this happening. It should not be marked as read until you - "read it". Will look into it when I have a chance.

At first I thought it was something on my system. I cleared cache and removed all history for TiPb to no effect. Tried another browser with the same result. I even tried another system and see the same thing happening.

Happens to me, too and drives me crazy. If I have a browser up with TiPB forums home page in a tab and have to close the browser and re-open it, everything is marked as read!
