I think it's probably one of those applications that is hard to code efficiently so as to make it NOT be a battery hog. I'm sure they are probably working fast and furious, but Apple is pretty diligent about resource management on the iPhone (for example, not allowing background applications). My bet is that flash eats battery life, so until it is perfected, Apple says no no no.

Nothing in the firmware suggests this. And as someone already posted, everything being reported is to the contrary.
I don't doubt we'll eventually see this -- because the whole world adopted this crap-tastic technology -- but I think it's awhile off. |
