I don't think the 2.0 software will have flash support. Adobe already stated that it is very difficult to do without more access. And besides, if flash was going to be added, why wouldn't Apple demo that, it is a pretty big deal.

So if that's the case that means that apple doctored the images. I went to nationalgeographics.com on my 1.1.3 Touch and it shows the cheetah with the download free flash player icon.

Hmmm... interesting.
Why wouldn't they have showed that at WWDC if it's true?

Possibly it wasn't fully ready to debut.

It seems interesting that apple would pick multiple web sites that have distinctive flash player vs non flash player pages to show off as testing sites. Maybe the ship does leak from the top?

I would think that after all the game demos they showed at WWDC 08 that the iPhone could handle doing flash. I'm no programmer, but can it really be that big of a deal. Or is more politics between Adobe and Apple?

I'm betting Adobe has released some sort of Flash player behind closed doors to testers but Apple doesn't think it's polished enough.

Default Is Sproutcore Apples Alternative for Flash on the iPhone?

Quote from article in link below "Over the last year, I’ve also outlined Apple’s efforts to starve Adobe’s Flash and AIR (and by extension, Microsoft’s me-too Flash plugin called Silverlight), at a time when pundits have insisted that Flash was a vital missing element on the iPhone and that Apple could/should/would be scrambling to port Flash to it. It might be a surprise to find that Apple’s air supply attack on Flash and its interest in dusting Windows with Cocoa are actually related."
