Default Any Windows PC users going back to their old non-iPhone?

Hey all,

I have been using the iPhone for the past year, or so, and love the web browser... but, I miss my old Treo.

I sync my iPhone on a Windows PC. I loaded a ton of messages in the Notes app and after the 2.0 "upgrade" I no longer had the Notes. (Yes. I did everything by the book. I think I was just unlucky, as I have heard others having the same issue.)

Does it seem strange that on a Windows PC you need Outlook to sync your iPhone calendar or that the Notes app has no syncing to your PC?

The Treo was very forgiving, it synced all the data on the device to it own software... including notes. You could pull off any data you wanted and place it on a SD card and put the data anywhere you wanted it. Something the iPhone lacks, unless you have a Mac and buy a $9 piece of software.

Am I the only dissatisfied PC user here? I think the iPhone is an awesome addition to a Mac computer. But when my Notes are lost, and iTunes did not backup the files correctly... adn I lose data... I really become unproductive.

Maybe and iPod Touch and a Centro is in my future.

Dave

I switched to a 3G from a Treo 750 and I miss the following functionality:

- Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP)
- Able to Download podcasts OTA (via NewsBreak)
- Profiles for alerts, alarms, scheduling, ect...
- SlingBox

That said, The 3G is absolutely GORGEOUS and I have no plans to switch. I'll just hope Apple and 3rd parties step-up and provide this missing functionality.

I just ordered a Treo Pro. I like the iphone but had too many problems with calls. I need mms and I need cut and paste (among alot of other things), I like the iphone but certainly don't love it.

I also will carry a touch, I like most apple products.

I am thinking of getting the BB Storm, that's what I really wanted, but RIM was taking to long to release it.

I mainly switched because I like touchscreens the best for phones.

I purchased an Iphone because I wasn't waiting for the BOLD taking to long and the Storm is to new and it might be buggy. Iphone seems stable, but battery life is horrible, only holds one day charge plus dies really fast if you are browsing, but other than that it is good.

Maybe it's me but going back to a Centro or any other Palm product for that matter is kinda going backwards... in my opinion.

I came from a Treo 650 a year ago. After a severe data loss when I cancelled mobileme (all calendar and contact data, also the ones stored locally on the iphone, were gone, and there was absolutely NO support from apple regarding this issue, even though there was no hint that also locally stored data would be wiped out) I decided to switch to a Nokia E71. Unlike the really sluggish iPhone UI it is at least as snappy as the Treo (which is a huge success), and the keyboard is at least similar to the Treo's (there are umlaut keys which is way better for me). But I do miss the iPhone's touchscreen, ease-of-use, browser, multimedia and a decent headset to listen to music.

Yeah if you canceled MobileMe all of your info would have been wiped from the phone for sure. It's just like if you shut off sync, it warns you that you will lose all of you contacts, calendar, etc... Losing info on your computers does not make a lot of sense to me though. Odd...

Apple now have made it easy to make a back up file for all of that info. I'll post the directions for anyone interested in another thread to keep this one on topic.
