Sounds like all of the questions have been answered pretty thoroughly. So I'll just recommend some of the applications I can't live without
1. Google Reader (web app) for iPhone 2. Fieldrunners - a tower defense style game that I'm completely addicted to 3. Evernote - I moved the notes application off my first home screen and replaced it with this. Notes sync between the iPhone app, the web app, and the app on my mac. If you mark a note a 'favorite' you'll be able to view and edit it even if you don't have an internet connection. Very handy. 4. Wurdle - Kind of like bookworm for windows mobile. 5. BusySync - I use this on the mac to sync my google calendars with iCal. I then sync ical with mobileme. It sounds complicated, but it works surprisingly well. I sync with google every 5 minutes and the sync with mobile 'Automatically' the result is almost like having google calendar pushed to my iPhone. |

Here are some food for thought regarding the iPhone, Kevin:

Some thoughts on e-mail. First, my iPhone receives Exchange e-mail BEFORE my computer does, even though my iPhone is connected through a 3G connection. Go figure. As a result, is getting e-mail faster than on your computer fast enough for you? (Sounds like a Jimmy Johns commercial). Second, gmail's features seem to work much better since the introduction of 2.2.
As I look at my iPhone and its seven pages of applications, here are the ones I use the most: Stanza: I've been able to find a lot of books that are my favorites in PDF files, and then I use the Stanza desktop application to convert those files and move them to the iPhone. Very useful. Sportacular or Sportstap: Useful on days when I want to see the results of a particular game (or series of games). I used this a lot during the World Series, and I still use it a lot on Saturdays (college football) and Sundays (NFL). iheartradio or WunderRadio - When I want to listen to some particular stations online. I haven't been able to find NFL games on WunderRadio, but I did find World Series and Baseball Playoff Games on some channels. When will someone release a NFL radio app? Dactyl: A game where you touch the bombs before they explode, and you can't touch any part of the screen that isn't a bomb. High score for me at the moment is 912. My next goal score is 1000. You get into a groove, but it takes a while (and sometimes a number of tries on a certain occasion) to get into that groove. Air Hockey: I like the original one, the one that costs money. I spend a bit of time playing this. Paper Football: There's a "lite" version that doesn't seem much different than the full version, but I bought the full because I played the "lite" all the time. My feeling is that if you play something enough, you ought to buy it. It's not challenging, but sometimes we need to have a fun game that isn't that tough. Sort of an "enjoyable cruise-control" for the mind. Arcade Hoops: I was a big fan of "Hot Hoops" on the PocketPC a few years ago...and this is as close as it gets on the iPhone. I've been playing this a lot lately. Bubble Wrap: Free, fun, and fun with multiple people. Play against other people in your family (especially kids) and see what your high score may be. I haven't bought the full version of this...I ought to for how much we play it. Solebon Solitare: Again, a lite and full version exist. I like Solitare every now and then, and it made sense to upgrade to the full version. I haven't played many of the versions of Solitare, however, I stick to general old Klondike 3, which is also part of the lite version. Facebook: As others have mentioned, it's a good app. I wish you could interact with your group memberships, as well as some of your other facebook "apps," but I think many of those other apps are flash-driven. Pianist: I'm a high school choir director, need I say more? Weather Bug: Still the best weather app out there...beats the iPhone's own app (what use is weather without a forecast?)...and I do like it better than the Weather Channel app (tried it). Fieldrunners: someone else mentioned this...but a great game, addicting, and you just wish eventually for more weapons and different maps (they are probably coming). iProRecorder: seems to work good for what I do...and now you can set up a download to your computer over wi-fi. That's my mini app review...lots of apps that I didn't mention that are for special uses, played occasionally, or just haven't been played much yet. One bit of advice with iPhones/iPod Touch models is for a family to use one main iTunes account, and to use one computer to sync all the devices (up to five) so you can share games. |

I didn't read all the comments, so I hope this hasn't.
- when wanting to get to the top of any page quickly, just tap the info bar at the top of the screen. This feature is extreamely help full and you'll use it constantly. Now if only there was a way to get to the bottom just as fast... P |
