We do not have 3G in this area. Not even close. So I keep the 3G turned off.

The 3G connection is very "loose" in my area - if I go out in front of my house, I get 3G, but if I start to move down city (where I am the most) I get edge.
If would choose 3G, but there's just not enough connection around here for it to work, so when I cannot access wifi, I'm stuck with edge.

Running mine on EDGE to save battery life, but when I can't take it anymore... 3G all the way!

No 3G in my area. WiFi is it for me. I'm only on edge when there is a power outage or when I leave my house. Not a problem since the only place I go is to the movies and I'm not using my phone there.

Ever since I've been using 3.0 betas I've been running 3G non stop with just over 50% screen brightness.. So nice not having to worry about the battery anymore..

Is the battery difference pretty dramatic? I always run on 3G, but I listen to mostly podcasts while at work maybe I should drop it to edge when it's not in use?
