Rumor: $99 8GB iPhone 3GS for Christmas
Read on Gizmodo this morning. Sorry I can't post the link. Here's what it said:
It's hearsay at this point, but Boy Genius Report's sources claim the 8GB 3G will be swapped with a 3GS. They've had a decent-enough record with rumors lately, and it makes sense against the $99 Droid Eris. We'll see. That would be pretty sweet. I've been waiting on upping to the 3GS once I get a contract renewal in January. The price drop would be a plus.

they will have to discontinue the 3G then or the 3G would be $50...which i highly doubt...

Apple has already said no new hardware for the rest of the year, so I don't think we'll see a 3GS w/ a 8GB, but I've been wrong before.

Well if they are they need to release it b4 my 30 days is up....Since i really do not need no 16gb or 35(im sure if i decide to get that i will put my 6 gb of mp3's on it which mostly consist of streisand,madonna,cher)

There is no truth to it yet, but it makes sense to release a $99 "new" phone for the holidays. As for the mini version I don't know what this person was talking about. I read Verizon may get a smaller CDMA Apple device around Q3 2010 but that's just speculation at this point.
