My phone was replaced with a brand-spankin'-new-iPhone sealed in new packaging. This was about two (?) weeks ago... my store had no white-boxed phones at the time... not sure if they do now.

Here is a great Safari tip from a Blackberry user! Kevin over at crackberry.com posted a great article last night that he noted that turning off javascript on the iPhone or Bold for that matter works wonders in regards to speed. I never even thought to try turning it off. And wow, the speed is greatly improved, though you may have issues with some sites but not many. Head over to your safari settings and turn javascript off.

And to promote a new forum on TiPb forums check out this link. If you think the iPhone has issues, reading the below link will assure you that you have the right phone.

Default Newbie Top Ten List

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie and have just joined the group. My first question is to have the vets give a top ten list that all iPhone newbies should know. What is your top ten list? I'll check back periodically for responses. Thanks for your time.

Hank

1st - Going through every menu, see what you want changed or want to keep

2nd - MobileMe and Yahoo (supposedly yahoo, but it's funky at times) push your mail. Gmail requires you to manually check or have your device check every so often (15mins, 30, minutes, an hour). So ensure the Me and Yahoo are set to push and the others are fetching as often as you'd like (Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendars)
