Default Text Message Notifications

Is there a way to add new text notifications to the iphone without a jailbreak?

No, you get the badge, the box and the vibrate/audible alert, but that's it. Otherwise you need to jailbreak.

Better sounds, the ones we get are lame. At least the clown horn is mildly amusing.

ah, that makes sense.

new text notifications is a different thing than to change the sound for the existing notification. but no, you can't do that.

You can change the sounds, but you need to Jailbreak then use SSH to swap the sound files. Let me know if you want me to post instructions.

Jailbreak is necessary for the facility you wish to get. If you do jailbreak then you can change the sound and add new text notifications.

I want it to vibrate when I get a text message but can't find the option (unless I am in silent mode of course). Is this also only available through Jailbreak?
