I am not exactly sure if texting IS counted...if it is, I would assume it's prorated, like say I have a 30$ family text plan and 5 lines, 6$ worth of charges would probably be counted towards each line. That's about it.

That's just the way they organize it. mine is too. they charge all shared features to the primary line.

Well, according to apple, I am eligable to upgrade on July 12. I bought my iPhone 3g with a contract extension last year. My bill is described as above.
It appears I am eligable for an early upgrade, and my bill is only over $100 is you count texting (pre-tax, after the discount). Chris
