Default Can anyone switch to an IPhone?

If I just got a new plan with free phones, can I still upgrade to an IPhone? Is there any additional costs?

You got a free phone from AT&T? If you did you will have to pay the full price for the iPhone.

sure, the question is at what price. if it's within the 30 days you may be able to return your existing phones and pay the discount for the upgrade to the subsidized price. you may not be able to all the same

we've seen stories of people who have to wait 2 years for the subsidized price again, others were 12, 13, 15, 18 months and anything in between. for me it was 11 months inbetween to be upgrade eligible

basically, call ATT and ask. they'll know about your specific account

If you are outside the first thirty days, you will have to pay full retail. You can inquire about your early or "secured" upgrade and you will be able to purchase for $200 off full retail. Otherwise, you will have to wait until your upgrade date (which is determined by your monthly revenue) to get the fully subsidized price. Or do what I did for my employee line: buy a used iphone off craigslist (8g 3G's are going for $200- $250) and use that till your upgrade. Sell your free phones for $50-$100 and you actually end up ahead.
