Mobile Me - Read Messages

Hi everyone, I haven't really been happy with Yahoo since I switched to iPhone from my BlackBerry so I figured I would try Mobile Me. It seems to work pretty well, calendar and contacts sync really fast and email seems to be almost instant.

One question though. Is email read at me.com supposed to show read on your iPhone? Mine isn't updating until I open the mail app and let it refresh. I though Mobile Me was supposed to work like Exchange where you get full two way email reconciliation.

Also, a little off topic but whatever. What desktop mail program are you using? I'm on a PC, Windows Mail is kind of crappy and I'm not sure if I want to spend the cash on Outlook. Are there any other options?

It's annoying, but normal behaviour, with push at any rate. If I'm not mistaken, though, the badge will update using IMAP, when the server is polled.

Like Polywog said, it's a normal action. As for a client, I'd suggest if you want to keep a copy of all your data, to get Outlook. The reason being, if you then install Mobile ME desktop, you can set it to sync with your iPhone, and your Mobile ME account, seemlessly...

That's what I do at present.

The only thing I hate is, since I forward emails from my Gmail account to Mobile ME; if I delete an email in Mobile ME, I have to remember to log into Gmail later (or at some stage) and delete it\them from there, too...

Thanks guys. So I guess I just need to be patient and the badge/mail app will eventually update. Kind of sucks that a pay service doesn't work instantly or at least close to instantly. Still on my trial period but I do like how Mobile Me can separate my Exchange contacts and calendar from personal and those items do seem to sync instantly whether the change is made on the phone or at me.com.
