I know this is an iphone forum, but just saying the bb isnt good at anything just isnt true. They are starting to market this phone, and I think it will do just fine.
Again how many different types of phones does BB make? And how long have they been around? So your whole point of 56% of smartphone sales means absolutely nothing... Apple has been in the business little over a year with 2 phones only. They've made more of a dent in the industry with 2 phones than BB has made with countless phones and many years being in the business.

I understand what Mycrownvic is saying but at the end of the day it's still just a blackberry. Not very exciting.

YOu never answered the original question.. How is the thunder getting anymore hyped up then the iphone? The iphone was the most hyped up phone on the planet, hands down! NO denying that. Apple has a good marketing team.

Apple didn't try hyping it up themselves... big difference. RIM and Verizon have leaked out so many videos, documents, etc...

Nobody really knew what to expect of the iPhone 3g... Name, nothing...

The wife and I will be getting new phones at the end of the year. Simply put, they will either be iPhones or the BB Storm's. An actual hands-on of the BB will probably determine. Several of my friends have 3G iPhones. Without a doubt, they have their own issues. But they come close to making up for it with the iTunes integration, amazing amount of apps avail, and just general layout of the OS. Blackberry has the dependability of being a Blackberry. Trivialize it however you want Bad Ash, but they have been and are the industry leader for Smart Phones. The fact that they have been around for 10 years is neither here nor there. They hold the market share TODAY. Will that be the case in a year or ten? Nobody knows. But they are the king right now. I am skeptical, in that it will be a first gen device. As such, there is bound to be first gen hiccups (i.e. iPhone 1.....icckkk). All of the feedback is that the typing on it is NOTHING like the iPhones'. This could be the reason it could be successful w/ the diehard BB fans, in that it is rumored to actually feel like pressing an actual button in with each key. We'll see.

I'll tell you what. If I get it, I'll send you an MMS pic of me holding my new phone w/ the text from this thread 'copy and pasted' in the email as well. Can the iPhone do any of that right now?

Well, technically you can't do that on the BB Storm right now either.

Boy Genius didn't seem to like the Storm's ClickThrough action much. That'll be a deciding factor on whether I like it or not. I'm not a big fan of the BB OS, so if it's at all gimmicky or glitchy, despite Crackberry Kevin beating me up, I may have to mock it

Unfortunately, BG is nothing but a fanboy. He's allowed to be, but he shouldn't try and pretend like he can give unbiased input.
Frrom what I am hearing also, they are at least 1 OS build, probably more, beyond what was demo'd at that LA party. Not to mention, out of the 10+ other bloggers out there who spent some time with and critiqued it, none of them remarked about the issues that BG referenced. If anything, they were actually speaking to the opposite of many of his observations.

I don't know. We shall see....

Bg is an iphone fanboy.. He dislikes both rim and verizon, so any sane person shouldnt take anything from his review... I know the storm will be a solid device once its all said and done, but bold it is for me on the 4th
