Nobody really knew what to expect of the iPhone 3g... Name, nothing... |

The wife and I will be getting new phones at the end of the year. Simply put, they will either be iPhones or the BB Storm's. An actual hands-on of the BB will probably determine. Several of my friends have 3G iPhones. Without a doubt, they have their own issues. But they come close to making up for it with the iTunes integration, amazing amount of apps avail, and just general layout of the OS. Blackberry has the dependability of being a Blackberry. Trivialize it however you want Bad Ash, but they have been and are the industry leader for Smart Phones. The fact that they have been around for 10 years is neither here nor there. They hold the market share TODAY. Will that be the case in a year or ten? Nobody knows. But they are the king right now. I am skeptical, in that it will be a first gen device. As such, there is bound to be first gen hiccups (i.e. iPhone 1.....icckkk). All of the feedback is that the typing on it is NOTHING like the iPhones'. This could be the reason it could be successful w/ the diehard BB fans, in that it is rumored to actually feel like pressing an actual button in with each key. We'll see.
I'll tell you what. If I get it, I'll send you an MMS pic of me holding my new phone w/ the text from this thread 'copy and pasted' in the email as well. Can the iPhone do any of that right now? |

Boy Genius didn't seem to like the Storm's ClickThrough action much. That'll be a deciding factor on whether I like it or not. I'm not a big fan of the BB OS, so if it's at all gimmicky or glitchy, despite Crackberry Kevin beating me up, I may have to mock it

Frrom what I am hearing also, they are at least 1 OS build, probably more, beyond what was demo'd at that LA party. Not to mention, out of the 10+ other bloggers out there who spent some time with and critiqued it, none of them remarked about the issues that BG referenced. If anything, they were actually speaking to the opposite of many of his observations. I don't know. We shall see.... |
